Version 1.1 of QuotesRT has been uploaded to the App Store on 8/26/08. This version has several performance related enhancements. You can now toggle streaming quotes on and off so that you can leave the application open without draining the battery. The issue with the keyboard being slow to respond while entering a ticker symbol has been addressed and users should notice a substantial performance improvement. QuotesRT also remembers the last stock you were streaming and automatically loads that stock the next time you launch the application. This version should go live as a free update on the App Store sometime next week.

Real-Time Streaming Stock Quotes for the iPhone and iPod Touch. QuotesRT shows second by second real-time stock quotes, not 20 minutes delayed quotes like other stock applications. The easy to read interface allows you to type in the ticker symbol for the stock you want to view in real-time. The real-time streaming data associated with that ticker symbol is then displayed on the screen. At all times the Dow Jones, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 indexes are streamed in real-time and displayed on the lower portion of the screen.
The savvy investor will want to use QuotesRT to monitor individual stocks and the market as a whole, and PortfolioRT (see below) to see their entire portfolio at a glance. Update paths for QuotesRT and PortfolioRT will take different approaches. QuotesRT will be further enhanced to provide more real-time information related to world wide indexes and individual stocks such as volume, news, charts, etc..., while PortfolioRT will be further enhanced to manage your portfolio in terms of profit/loss, investment management, etc...

Do not leave this application running when you are not viewing it. Leaving the application running and turning off your devices screen will result in your battery draining more quickly than you would like. The application only takes a few seconds to load, so simply relaunch it the next time you want to check in on your stocks.
